I’m delighted to have received word of a blog write-up from Kelley, a customer who recently purchased one of my clutches. I am so glad she is so pleased with her new clutch!

Photo Feature – ohmeohmydesign

March 2, 2009

I’m honored that Sarah, the clever designer behind ohmeohmydesign, utilized some of my product photos in her recent listing. I was particularly flattered that Sarah said, “I covet her clutch purses. COVET, I tell you! Her use of color is astounding and her fabrics are downright yummy.”

You can view her listing and check our her shop here.

I’m very excited about a new feature on the website, Folk Art For the Fun of It.

Thank you for including me, Victoria!

Another Treasury

February 16, 2009

I am so flattered to have been featured in a number of Treasuries on Etsy. These are collections of items created by artists from around the world, linked by guest curators through theme, color, style, etc.

The latest Treasury in which I am featured focuses on bright blues:

If you want to check it out you’ll have to hurry, as the Treasury expires this Thursday. :)

Thanks to cbartworks for including my work!

I found this blog today and she has some great ideas. I especially loved the article about photos. I need to listen to her. :)

Site redesign and a new Facebook fan page

February 3, 2009

It’s nice to be married to a web guy. Pete finished the redesign of the site, and I think it looks great. We also created a fan page on Facebook. If you haven’t already, join 28 others (and counting, woo hoo!) and become a fan of Beatrice Studio. Thanks for helping to spread the word!

First sale! And a wholesale inquiry!

January 26, 2009

Yesterday was a big day. I got up early and was sewing by about 6:15 (on a Sunday morning, mind you). By the end of the day, I had four new items listed on Etsy, and (drum roll, please) my first sale AND a wholesale inquiry!

This hat is on its way to a new home in Alexandria. I hope Bethany loves it!

Oh happy day!

January 17, 2009

I got a message from the super-nice people at Erica’s yesterday when I got home from work, saying that my sewing machine was done!  Hooray!  So this morning I was able to finish these little man shoes for the new baby of one of Pete’s coworkers.

Baby, it’s cold outside

January 16, 2009

OK, first of all, it’s freezing. I’m generally a big fan of winter, but when the thermometer in the car reads 17 below (17 below!) on the way to work, even I will concede: it’s cold.

On another note, Jan sent me pictures of baby Zoe in her hat! Zoe So cute!

And on another note, I’m feeling a teensy bit frustrated because just when I was getting so excited about all of this beatricestudio stuff, my sewing machine decided it had had enough neglect, and required service. So until early-mid February, when it is due to return home, I will amuse myself with coming up with some new designs, cutting out some pattern pieces, and doing lots of hand-sewing with felt. I’m working on some baby booties now that look like hilarious little elf shoes, and I also want to make some flowers and other things that I can use for future applique and embellishment.  Further updates to come!  :)
