Site redesign and a new Facebook fan page

First sale! And a wholesale inquiry!
January 26, 2009Yesterday was a big day. I got up early and was sewing by about 6:15 (on a Sunday morning, mind you). By the end of the day, I had four new items listed on Etsy, and (drum roll, please) my first sale AND a wholesale inquiry!
This hat is on its way to a new home in Alexandria. I hope Bethany loves it!

January 17, 2009I got a message from the super-nice people at Erica’s yesterday when I got home from work, saying that my sewing machine was done! Hooray! So this morning I was able to finish these little man shoes for the new baby of one of Pete’s coworkers.
Baby, it’s cold outside
January 16, 2009OK, first of all, it’s freezing. I’m generally a big fan of winter, but when the thermometer in the car reads 17 below (17 below!) on the way to work, even I will concede: it’s cold.
On another note, Jan sent me pictures of baby Zoe in her hat! 
So cute!
And on another note, I’m feeling a teensy bit frustrated because just when I was getting so excited about all of this beatricestudio stuff, my sewing machine decided it had had enough neglect, and required service. So until early-mid February, when it is due to return home, I will amuse myself with coming up with some new designs, cutting out some pattern pieces, and doing lots of hand-sewing with felt. I’m working on some baby booties now that look like hilarious little elf shoes, and I also want to make some flowers and other things that I can use for future applique and embellishment. Further updates to come!
